    We are seeking to appoint a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to deliver and coordinate literacy provision, including provision for learners with English as an additional language (EAL).

    The successful candidate will require detailed understanding of the ways in which children learn to read, including expertise in phonics, spelling and comprehension strategies. Alongside this, a love of reading, an understanding of the secondary English curriculum, excellent interpersonal skills and an appreciation of different cultures are essential characteristics of the successful candidate.

    Recent experience of planning and delivering literacy interventions is also essential.

    Applicants should be keen to:

    • Work with colleagues to establish a broad and effective literacy offer as part of the school’s reading strategy.
    • Play a key role in the delivery of literacy interventions and the integration of students with English as an additional language.
    • Develop teachers’ understanding of literacy, and in particular of phonics.

    Required to start as soon as possible, an experienced HR Consultant to work within the Central Team. Previous experience in an education setting (and/or public sector) would be an advantage; however, proven experience of general HR advice and supporting with HR casework is essential.

     

    The successful candidate will provide professional HR advice, guidance and support to all stakeholders including Senior Leaders on all aspects of the HR function. The postholder will support the Director of HR and will be responsible for designated HR casework.

  • Key Stage Leader

    The successful applicant will lead one of our Key Stage teams overseeing the pastoral care of students.

    The Key Stage Leader will be responsible for the behaviour, attendance and safety of students and will design and implement support strategies. They will implement school procedures and processes and monitor and track student pastoral and academic performance.

    The Key Stage Leader will work with pastoral managers, form tutors, well-being and safeguarding practitioners and senior leaders to ensure all students achieve their full potential, particularly learners most in need of support.

    The Key Stage Leader will also have a teaching timetable to ensure the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.

  • Pastoral Manager

    This role will:

    • Take a lead role in providing appropriate pastoral support to students across Westfield School and especially to one year group currently Year 10.
    • Work with other pastoral support and teaching staff in the development and implementation of bespoke support plans to improve attendance, behaviour and engagement in learning.
    • Provide information, advice and support to enable students to make positive choices about their attitude to learning, progression, behaviour or attendance.
